Global Private Banking Awards: Berenberg named “Best Private Bank in Germany”
Hamburg. Berenberg Bank, a leading European bank with proven expertise in investment and private banking, has been awarded ”Best Private Bank in Germany” at the annual Global Private Banking Awards for the second consecutive time. Organised for the 4th year by “The Banker“ and “Professional Wealth Management“ (PWM), both belonging to the Financial Times Group, the awards honour leading institutions in the financial sector demonstrating outstanding standards in quality.
”This accolade confirms our ongoing efforts to offer the best possible service to our clients. Today it is more important than ever to continuously improve the quality of client service and evolve the business model. An individual and independent service and our clients’ interests are always at the forefront of our activities. With engagement and our innovative ability, as well as bespoke service, we aim at longstanding client relationships,” says Dr. Hans-Walter Peters, spokesman for the personally liable partners of Berenberg Bank, which was founded in 1590.
Berenberg won against a number of competitors in its category. The institutions were judged by a panel of independent experts.
At this year’s awards, the spotlight was on service processes in a challenging market environment as well as the added value for clients. This entails reliable and trustworthy advice to clients, presenting an efficient asset allocation strategy, as well as the capability to offer bespoke solutions addressing individual needs. Other indicators, such as the development of the wealth managed for clients and risk management of the banks, were also judged.
Yuri Bender, Editor in Chief of Private Wealth Management and member of the jury, commented: ”Germany has long been a centre of innovation by major institutions in private banking. But the judges once again decided that the dedication of this boutique private banking player to its domestic customers in terms of service and investments should be rewarded. Several of the judges highlighted Berenberg's pure approach to wealth management, without the regulatory and operational distractions faced by larger competitors.”
