Berenberg highest climber in leading industry awards
Hamburg / London. Berenberg, one of Europe’s leading privately-owned banks, was the biggest climber among German banks in the 12th Euromoney Private Banking Survey. Euromoney is a leading British banking and capital markets publication, whose annual awards recognise the best providers of private banking services globally.
450 banks were assessed as part of the survey. In the “Best Private Bank in Germany” category, Berenberg was the highest climber, jumping five positions from 8th to 3rd place. In the Europe-wide category, Berenberg leapt twelve positions from 27th to 15th place.
Dr Hans-Walter Peters, speaking on behalf of Berenberg’s managing partners (who are personally liable partners of the bank), said: “we are very happy with this award. As a privately owned private bank with a track record dating back 425 years, our focus is on our clients and their needs.”
Dr Peter Raskin, head of Berenberg’s Private Banking activities, added: “managing our clients’ assets in their best interests is our number one priority and requires highly skilled advisers. Our role is to manage key risks that can impact our clients’ assets. Our advisers are problem-solvers and provide strategic solutions that recognise and take into account key risks – whether relating to the capital markets, or family, business or professional matters.”
This award continues the strong recognition for Berenberg’s differentiated and successful offering in recent awards. For a sixth year in succession, Berenberg was recently named number one in the “Elite of asset manager” for 2015 by Handelsblatt, the German daily business newspaper, and took first place in the German category at the Global Private Banking Awards.
