Polo

The bank has actively been sponsoring polo for many years. In addition to sponsoring different teams at polo tournaments in Germany, the UK and the United States of America, the polo tournaments take place again in 2011 under the patronage of Berenberg Bank. More information

After a hiatus of ten years, the European Senior Tour will come back to Germany! International golf stars, led by gold icon Bernhard Langer, will participate in the Berenberg Bank Masters which is set to take place at the Cologne Golf and Land Club from 17 to 19 June 2011.  More Information 

Historical Racing

Automotive fascination – just like a collector of automotive rarities tends his treasures, we likewise stand for the conservation of values. In June 2010 we presented the revival after 80 years of the battle of giants, the so-called “Elephant Race” between Mercedes-Benz and Bentley pre-war racing cars. Men speeding along in “flying machines” drew fascinated looks from the ranks of spectators in 2010 as well. More Information 

Hockey

One of the most successful hockey clubs in Germany, the long-established „Der Club an der Alster" in Hamburg, again competes this season promoted by Berenberg Bank. "Alster" has won several German championships and European Cup Winners Cups.

Tennis

It is one of Hamburg’s international flagship events and has a tradition of over 100 years: the German Open tennis tournament at the Rothenbaum stadium. Berenberg Bank sponsors the tournament, which is one of the top 20 events worldwide, and will on 17 July 2011 host a match between tennis idols Michael Stich and Ivan Lendl in the context of the Berenberg Bank Classics.

Another Berenberg Bank classics match took place on the occasion of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in April 2011 in Stuttgart, pitting Ivan Lendl against Mats Wilander.

Salzburg Festival

Ninety years of the Salzburg Festival was celebrated in 2010 in Austria’s capital of culture. Together with the “Friends of the Salzburg Festival”, Berenberg Bank sponsored the exhibition “The Great World Stage”. The history of the Festival had thus become alive at various locations throughout the whole city of Salzburg.

Word Meets Music

Hamburg pianist Sebastian Knauer published a CD serial themed "Word Meets Music". Whilst famous German actresses like Hannelore Elsner, Gudrun Landgrebe or Martina Gedeck read out, the first scholarship holder of Berenberg Bank Stiftung von 1990 and today’s world-class pianist plays adequate piano pieces. Berenberg Bank enabled him to produce several CDs as well as concert evenings. 

Hamburg Institute of International Economics (HWWI)

The HWWI conducts its own high-quality economic research and makes it available to politicians, scientists, economists and the interested public. Berenberg Bank is one of the long-term strategic partners of the HWWI and in conjunction with the institute has initiated the “Strategy 2030 – Wealth and Life in the Next Generation” series of research studies. Event Prominent

"Event Prominent" is a charity gala in aid of two German charities: Hamburg Leuchtfeuer and Dunkelziffer. Famous fashion designers show their collections presented by celebrities on the catwalk. Berenberg Bank has been presenting sponsor of this event since 2005.
