Foundation assets

We have been familiar with foundations and the management of foundation assets for many years and supplement this experience with our own foundation initiatives – such as the Berenberg Bank Foundation of 1990 and the BerenbergKids Foundation.

Preservation of foundation assets
In principle, the decree on the preservation of assets applies to foundation assets, i.e. foundation funds must be invested in accordance with the principles of the preservation of capital. In order to ensure that the purpose of the foundation is fulfilled on a sustainable basis, we recommend aiming for the real preservation of capital, i.e. offsetting inflation by strengthening assets.

High returns on foundation assets
The foundation assets need to achieve ongoing returns that are as high as possible, in order to generate dividends for the purposes of the foundation. These different goals are in conflict with one another and our portfolio management will achieve them in line with your specifications.

Talk to us about the best way to manage your foundation assets so that you can achieve your personal foundation aims: in the form of asset management or as a consulting contract. As a first step, we will carry out a Berenberg SIGMA asset structure analysis for your foundation, based on various financial theory models.
