Berenberg Bank

18.06.2009Berenberg Bank’s equity research best-in-class

Hamburg. Europe’s financial experts consider Berenberg Bank to be the leading brokerage firm for German equity research. Berenberg Bank, Germany’s oldest private bank founded in 1590, thus puts Deutsche Bank into second place in Thomson’s prestigious Extel survey, representing 90% of assets under management in Europe.

Publication of the annual Thomson Extel survey is always eagerly awaited – and considered to be the key performance indicator for the financial community. 7,400 fund managers, analysts and financial experts were surveyed. The result: 16.1% of all experts turn to Berenberg Bank first for German equity research, 12.5% chose Deutsche Bank, 11.3% Commerzbank and 7.2% UBS.

On the back of the market position gained in recent years, Berenberg Bank heavily expands this business in its locations Hamburg, Zurich, Paris and London in particular, in part by building up sector teams in telecom, healthcare and financial equity research. 30 analysts are covering 300 companies across Europe.
