22.08.2011Two new hires boost Berenberg’s private banking team with additional HNW expertise
Berenberg Bank launched its London private banking operation in January this year and has now built its team to 12 people.
Berenberg announces the appointment of Max White as a Director to focus on clients in the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man and the North West. Max brings particular expertise in the areas of wealthy individuals, Trusts and Family Offices, advising on a range of asset classes and strategies. Max has joined Berenberg after eight years at Morgan Stanley where he worked in the Private Wealth Management Division. He said: “I have been impressed by the combination of expertise and tradition within Berenberg. Clients are attracted for similar reasons as well as the access to other divisions of the company which can add considerable value to our diverse client base.”
Charlotte Baird has joined as an Associate Director from Deloitte where she specialised in dealing with ultra high net worth individuals (UHNW), wealthy families and trusts both in the UK and overseas, providing investment advice and financial planning. Integral to Charlotte’s role will be the development of Berenberg’s links within the intermediary market such as law firms, tax advisors and accountants. Charlotte said: “Berenberg has a fantastic reputation for providing unconflicted and transparent advice, where clients can genuinely be given the best service.”
Ross Elder and Fred Hervey, co-heads of Berenberg’s London-based private banking team, said: “There is a war on talent in London for quality private wealth management advisers and we are delighted that Max and Charlotte have decided to join our strong, client-focused team. We are offering our new team members the opportunity to build the business with us and that provides an exciting opportunity for those looking for a new challenge.”
Last month Berenberg announced the arrival of Matthew Stemp from UBS Global Asset Management where latterly he was the Head of UK with responsibility for the development and management of all client relationships.
