19.01.2016 — Berenberg signs Martin Kaymer as ambassador
Berenberg, the world’s second-oldest bank, based in Hamburg and with offices in Europe, the United States and Asia, signs Martin Kaymer as brand ambassador. Martin Kaymer is Germany’s No. 1 golf professional and will wear the Berenberg logo on the right side of his headwear for the first time this week in Abu Dhabi.
Martin Kaymer comments: „Berenberg is one of the oldest and leading private banks in the world. I feel honored to represent this extraordinary and old-established brand and I am very much looking forward to be part of this family of international ambassadors alongside Gary Player, Colin Montgomerie and Branden Grace”.
‘We are delighted that Martin Kaymer – the most successful German professional golfer on the PGA and European tours – is representing the Berenberg brand. In this way, we are further expanding our involvement in professional golf,’ says Dr Hans-Walter Peters, Spokesman for the Managing Partners of the privately owned bank founded in 1590.
Berenberg has actively supported the sport of golfing for many years. In the years from 2010 to 2013, the bank was the principal sponsor of the Berenberg Masters, a widely respected tournament on the European Senior Tour. This tournament was held in Fancourt (South Africa, 2010), in the Cologne Golf and Country Club (Germany, 2011 and 2013), and in the Wörthsee Golf Club (Germany, 2012). The tournaments were attended by up to 15,000 spectators. Since 2014, the Bank has been the main sponsor of the Berenberg Gary Player Invitational in UK and USA, in which great golfers like Martin Kaymer, Colin Montgomerie, Fred Couples or Rickie Fowler take part.
