The design translates this internal mindset into a clear visual language – rooted in heritage, shaped for the digital world, and built to resonate internationally. It bridges tradition and future, creating a brand identity that feels both familiar and refreshingly new.

At its heart: the Pulse of Progress – a dynamic core motif symbolising movement, progress and connection. It runs like a common thread through all media and touchpoints – from business cards to mobile apps.

From cloth trading to an international private bank – a look back at our history

Founded in 1590 by Hans and Paul Berenberg, the company evolved from an international trading house into a bank. Each generation has not only embraced change, but actively shaped it – from the move into banking in the 17th century to a decisive new beginning after the Second World War.

Today, Berenberg strikes a balance between scale, agility and client focus. We are large enough to deliver complex solutions – yet structurally agile enough to respond quickly and personally.
